However, five years ago, he had to give up gaming due to the progression of muscular dystrophy. &#8220;I used to play every day for many hours,&#8221; he recalls. &#8220;Playing video games helps decrease my stress and improve my mental health. In the game, you can be whoever you want to be.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Carlos began gaming at the age of five, and his passion for video games has never wavered. He loves sports games, especially\u00a0<i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">FIFA<\/i>, and enjoys teaming up with others in shooting games. But as his condition worsened, gaming became increasingly difficult, eventually forcing him to stop altogether. &#8220;Getting back into gaming would make a big difference because sometimes you need certain things to help you cope,&#8221; Carlos shared. &#8220;It helps you mentally.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Determined to play again, Carlos reached out to AbleGamers for solutions. AbleGamers&#8217; Peer Counseling team provided him with the adaptive equipment he needed to game comfortably once more. &#8220;They definitely did what I wanted to get back to gaming,&#8221; he says<br \/>\nNow, Carlos is once again immersed in the world of video games, playing his favorite sports titles and enjoying the social connection that comes with gaming. &#8220;I love meeting people from other places and countries. Gaming helps me escape from reality, and sometimes we all need that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With AbleGamers&#8217; support, Carlos has returned to one of his favorite activities\u2014gaming. &#8220;Thank you so much for helping me get back to my favorite leisure activity!&#8221; he says.
